Stand4her by Avon Event

I had this amazing opportunity to mingle amongst some awesome fellow bloggers at an event hosted by Avon #standforher. The message the Avon team wanted to bring across was that the brand isn’t only about make-up. The brand wants to bring awareness to different causes that are in place to uplift and encourage anyone to better their lives. By selling Avon and making a substantial living from it. The #stand4her project was developed to empower women, their communities and everyone else by celebrating and supporting in anything they want to be.

The speaker Nomvula spoke about a lady, named Ntuwiseni Marubini. Who made ends meet selling tomatoes from door to door to in the dusty streets of Thohoyandou in Venda, Limpopo. She made a R15,00 everyday to buy a loaf of bread for her family to eat for supper. One of those days she came across a woman who sold Avon and introduced her to the world of make-up. Through Avon she was able to start her own business. She is now the top sales representative of Avon. Her has her own home, car and her children are able to attend good schools and university.

Avon has two causes that are near and dear to the brand. They are passionate about causes that matters most to women. The Avon Foundation for Women have contributed over $1 billion in over 50 countries. Avon global philanthropy programs focus on funding breast cancer research and advancing access to quality care through the Avon Breast Cancer Promise, and efforts to reduce domestic and gender violence through its Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program. Avon’s global markets sell special products to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer and domestic violence, conduct hundreds of events for these causes, and educate women around the world through its global army of nearly six million Avon Representatives.

I was really inspired to help Avon make a difference and in return inspire other women by bringing awareness to these great causes.
